Happy Birthday to my Karly Marie....

So it is my Karly's birthday. We have had other things going on like the end of the school year but those are later posts. Karly's birthday is the priority right now. :)

Her birth picture. My poor child. She was my 1st VBAC. She was only 6 lbs. 4 oz. My smallest baby by a good six ounces. So my second baby had a cone head. She was the first one to use that route. :) That is a blood blister on her left pointer finger. She sucked in it so hard in-utero that it formed. And yes, she became a thumb sucker later. :)

Karly at six months old. She was a fairly chunky baby. Love those cheeks! She was almost 14 1/2 lbs. here. All her health problems started just 3 months later.

She doesn't look much bigger than her last picture does she? This is her 1 year picture. My bro-in-law calls it her Jack Nickelson picture. :) She was sitting up well here but 6 months from walking. She was undergoing gross motor and physical therapy at this point. She was 15 lbs. 1 oz. at her 1 year check. So yes, she had only gained just over 1/2 a pound in 6 months. It was awful to have doctors question me if I fed her at all.

Karly at 2 years. Looking much healthier. She is wearing a size 18 month dress at this point. So she is growing, but at her own slow and steady pace. She was declared "Failure to Thrive." The doctors could never give us a reason, even to this day. But she was all personality even then. Such a sweet girl but completely a mommy's girl. :)

Karly at 3 years. A very feisty girl! Still growing but still small. She was soon hospitalized with her 1st asthma attack just over 1 month after her 3rd birthday. Can't catch a break can she?

I love her hair in this one! You can see it going down her back. :) She's 4 here. I just love her!

Karly at 8 years old. She was so proud to be baptised. Adorable if I do say so myself. :)

I was such a slacker and sis not get a 9 year picture taken. So this is Karly from Easter this year. Still so tiny. I know she's tiny but I forget sometimes HOW tiny. We went to her 4th grade program and all of the kids were at least a head taller than she is. Monica is a good couple inches taller than her and Katelyn comes up to her eyes. She is just short. And she is okay with that because she has a cousin who is 19 and 4'10 1/2". And my older sister is 5 feet tall. So she handles it well.

I did promise to try to find her a shirt that says "I'm not short. I'm fun-sized." :)

The Happiest Place on Earth....

Ya know, I thought I was done blogging for a little while. That nothing much had happened. Then I forgot....we went to Disneyland. I know. How could you forget something like that but I did. So sue me. But it was a great day with only one major meltdown (Baby's).

We were in California to see my adorable little nephew, Luke, blessed. So we decided we might as well go to Disneyland. And we got in for free! Hey, you gotta know people! :)

So did Mikayla. But she had to have her daddy with her to even get near him. The costume characters like Mickey and Minnie she did not want to go near. Even though she screamed their names when she was them.

But the Princesses were not even and issue. She gave them hugs.

It was a great day. We all had fun. It was Mikayla's first time going to Disneyland. So that made it extra special.
