A few months ago the girls set the goal of growing their hair long enough to donate. I researched the various organizations that deal with hair donations and settled on Pantene Beautiful Lengths. They only need 8 inches of hair and they make wigs for cancer patients at no cost. Locks of Love actually charge a fee for making the wig. Plus, they want 10 inches. My girls and I were getting pretty tired of dealing with long hair so Pantene was a perfect choice for us.
Here is Megan, Monica, and Karly before the hair cuts. Megan is trying to look shorter to fit into the picture better.
Here is the back of their heads. (Obviously) I blew dry Megan's hair so it was straighter. That is a lot of hair. Because it is thick also. Now you have some idea what Mike has been putting up with and why he has pieces of hair all over his clothes. :)
TA-DA! The finished lengths! Megan is actually standing at full height. Way cute!I just realized Monica doesn't look to thrilled right here but really, she was! And they are holding their hair that they got cut off. Megan and Karly's was so thick that they had to do two braids and not one. Monica's hair was still fairly thick.
I got my hair cut also. I just don't take pictures of myself. Just picture Megan's hair but darker and my face instead of hers. :) Poor child to have the same haircut as her mother. But what else can you do with thick, curly hair?
Our hair was cut by Ashlie Johnson, a girl in an other ward. She did a great job! We are all happier to have shorter hair. So much easier to take care of!

SOO CUTE!! Way to go girls, that is such a sweet thing to do for someone else! Julie and I donated our hair last year, it was fun and now we are growing it out again :) Your girls are so pretty, Kathy!!
The girls are ADORABLE and you have inspired me to do the same the next time I chop off a lot of hair!
